The Celtics

Observation: Doc Rivers is the least professional coach I've ever
seen. On the other hand, Ray Allen is damn talented.

For the Bulls, I like the fact that their uniforms look exactly the
same as they did when Jordan and Co. were dominating the game.

Other than that I could not care less about the game of basketball.

Going back to school...

Was a very BAD idea. I never really liked school, I just liked figuring things out. When I am forced to figure things out, it really bothers me, especially when the tasks don't seem to add any sort of benefit to my overall education. Perhaps I should have just focused on reading Wikipedia and watching Jeopardy! instead of paying attention in school. News flash: I didn't really pay attention in school that much, most things just come pretty easily to me or, at a minimum, I am able to skate my way through by applying learning principles to whatever subject is presently at hand.

At any rate, I don't like homework, never really had, I feel more like  I do it because I have to than because I am learning something. On that note, I'm going to stop distracting myself and get back to it.

Side note: Yesterday it was 91 degrees in Vermont. In April. There was a week last April where it was in the 80's, I recall going snowboarding and the novelty of riding in summer wore off quickly as I began to sweat while wearing the bare minimum amount of clothing to keep me somewhat dry.

Side-side note: I still really enjoy making and eating the mexican casserole that my mom made while we were kids. Thanks Mom!

SIDS

Today, I almost died of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). I woke up
this morning with my sheet, my king sized very cool red sheet, wrapped
around my neck. If I had been a baby, I surely would have perished. I
would have been the first grown man to die of this nefarious syndrome.
I believe that is exactly why my mom said "make your bed, or die" when
I was a kid. To be honest, because I know my mom will read this, she
never included the death threat, but for the sake of entertainment,
I'll leave it there. Anyhow, check out the TED talk on the allosphere,
it should blow your mind. On that note, I am going to bed, hopefully
I'll survive another night with SIDS looking over me.

Mind the bushes

First ride to last snow.

I rode my motorbike on Friday last week, just putting around town
mostly, but then tucked it away in the garage because it flurried most
of Easter Sunday. I let it warm up a bit on Monday, but since Tuesday
morning I've been exclusively on the bike and even started touring
around after work a bit as well. I got myself a new jacket this
winter, an alpinestars smk, and the thing is incredible. I feel safer,
more secure, and of course more badass. Certainly a step up from the
used jacket I had been wearing the previous 3 years.

So far the worst part about being back is the extreme lull in workload
over what I had been doing in Ohio. With any luck, things will pick up
next week as I transition on to my next project. I certainly thrive in
high stress situations and become far too lethargic if my schedule
allows. Wish I could spend my down time exercising at least, haven't
done nearly enough of that recently.

The ramble continues: New World Tortilla used to be an awesome burrito
shop downtown and recently they moved out to near my work on pine
street. The chicken vera cruz is still amazing and probably even
better now that all the tortillas are made fresh on site, but the
cheesesteak burrito I had today, for nearly $9 including tax, was
decidely unfulfilling. More meat, less filler please.

Last week's ball game

I was fortunate enough to attend the second game of the season between
the cincinnati reds and the new york mets last Wednesday night. Good
food, good beer, good company and the mets even won to boot! My
enthusiasm was a bit tempered as I was in Cincinnati and my gracious
hosts were pretty hardcore reds fans. Nonetheless I enjoyed myself,
sort of a last hurrah before I wrapped up my business in Ohio and
headed home.

Quotation

I really enjoy the following line from the book I am currently reading.

"he was a... mass of imbecile enthusiams..."

Bonus points if you can guess the book

Do I really need a Twitter if I have this blog?

I don't have enough time to contribute here, let alone multiple blogs/twitters/threads/whatever. My stream of consciousness cannot be subdivided!

Sorry Twitter, maybe next time.
