Confusion settles in

Most rental cars these days have keyless entry with a chunky remote
that is required for your keychain. Why is it that EVERY rental car I
get has all of the spare remotes and keys permanently attached to the
keyring? Thank you Hertz, now I have to bring along a Sherpa just to
haul my ridicuously large keychain about town. Brilliant.
